The upcoming scifi action/comedy Men in Black 3 out May 25, 2012 released a nice featurette with the special effects wizard himself, Rick Baker giving us a behind the scenes look and information on the aliens. The Hulk TV Series Coming 2013!

Guillermo del Toro will be a part of the new Hulk TV series coming 2013. The hour long series is in development according to ABC’s President Paul Lee,

“Hulk is in development. It wasn’t going to be ready this season but we hope it’s going to be ready for next season.” - Hollywood Reporter

We know that there’s rumors of another standalone Hulk film and how ABC, which owns Marvel Studios, will successfully strategize all this is to be seen.

I like Mark Ruffalo as Hulk in The Avengers, and whether ABC will save him for a stand alone movie or the TV series is to be seen.

Comic movies and TV shows seems to be the rage these days, and rightfully so!

The Avengers Review: A Deviation From The Norm

It’s hard to find fault in a film that reached a billion dollars faster than any film in history. Frankly, it’s quite hard to find any fault in The Avengers at all. Directed by Joss Whedon, the fears of producing/directing a film like The Avengers are providing ample screen time for all of the superheros, keep in check the casts egos and how to weave a complete and fulfilling story that’s entertaining, yet, appeases the Marvel universe fan base. The Avengers is just about that, the superheros. The more popular and beloved the characters, the more screen time. Unless, of course, you’re a character with a hot body like Scarlet Johansson’s Black Widow. She received more quality air time than her actual significance in The Avengers universe.

Interestingly, here’s a break down by Vulture of the onscreen time of each superhero.

Hawkeye: 12:44
Thor: 25:52
Bruce Banner/Hulk: 28:03
Black Widow: 33:35
Iron Man/Tony Stark: 37:01
Captain America: 37:42

The Avengers movie has it all, awesome characters, great story, great actors, great direction, great action, great special effects, great cinematography and an excellent pace. The Avengers deviated a bit from your typical heroes fighting the big bad guys. Although the bad guys were bad, big and came in droves, their individual and combined strengths were relatively weak compared to the superheroes. Quite the deviation from the impenetrable and powerful bad guys where the superheros have to summon every ounce of energy and smarts to contend, and ultimately, defeat them.

I personally would have liked to see a much more powerful villain than what Joss Whedon gave us in Loki and his minions (Loki was more manipulative than powerful). It would have made it more climatic in terms of their battles. However, this film works because it’s all about the superheros and Whedon knew that audiences wanted to see them in action using their powers and smarts; with just enough of the bad guys to satiate movie goers and fans. Luckily, after the film’s ending credits we see a very powerful foe in line for The Avengers to deal with. That is the reason why I can’t wait for The Avengers part 2!

The Avengers Team Thanks Fans For The Quick Billion

In celebration, err, to thank fans for making The Avengers movie an insanely successful film, Joss Whedon and team produced a little featurette thanking fans, and of course further promoting the film. Well it was a great film, and they deserve every penny, albeit a pricey one for 3D viewers like myself.

Continuing their marketing campaign and hype weeks away from the release of Ridley Scott’s Prometheus, 20th century Fox released a new international TV spot with a sneak peak of new alien creature. Is this the alien that we’ve all come to know, fear and love? The narrator’s voice is pretty creepy and timeless. Can’t wait!

Snow White and The Huntsman Breath of Life Music Video

Forence and The Machine released their “Breath of Life” theme song for Snow White and The Huntsman. You can’t go wrong with Florence Welch writing a song for a movie. The music video provides some really nice scenes of Kristen Stewart, Charlize Theron, and Chris Hemsworth.

I hope this movie is not too big for Kristen Stewart. It looks great! Well any movie with Charlize Theron is at least good eye candy.

Action Packed The Amazing Spider Man 4 Minute Super Preview

Sony Pictures released a 4 minute wallop of a preview to get your panties wet for the upcoming The Amazing Spider Man this July 3rd. In the clip you’ll get a much better view of The Lizard, Spider Man swinging across downtown, and of course, the real amazing one, Emma Stone.

I’m a little iffy on the CGI of Spider Man when he’s in motion swinging. Maybe it’ll be fixed by the time the movie is released, but just like the first Spider Man movie, Spidey seems a little gummy and plastic. In the first movie, it was forgivable since movie CGI isn’t this advanced, but there should be no excuse not to have real life looking Spider Man, swinging or not. So we’ll see.
